Hello and welcome to Partly Sunny Studio! My name is Rachel, I am a self-taught artist living in New York. I've been drawing and painting all my life ... ever since i could hold a colored pencil and a paint brush. ;)
There are many things that can inspire me to paint: beautiful flora and fauna, awesome music, interesting lines/quotes from movies or books... Inspiration is endless ...
Sometimes, though, I like to just set a new canvas on the easel, grab a tube of paint and a brush and see what happens. To me, "Art" is about creating something beautiful, something that makes people happy when they see it. Every new painting is a fresh start.
I have entered my art into competitions open to artists from all around the world and received two Special Recognition Awards for Outstanding Art.
As much fun as it was to win those awards, hearing back from people who are enjoying having my artwork on their walls is the best! Creating custom commissioned paintings is one of my favorite things about being an artist, and having happy customers is my #1 priority!
